Our Lady of Mount Carmel

YouTube Video praying the Rosary and Nine Day Novena to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel (Day 3). Each mystery will define the fruit of that mystery and a brief description helping us to grow in holiness and virtue.

Day 3The Glorious Mysteries

First Mystery – The Resurrection of Our Lord

(St. Matthew 28: 1-20; St. Mark 16: 1- 18; St. Luke 24: 1-49; St. John 20: 1- 21: 25; I Corinthians 15: 1-11)

The fruit of this mystery is faith. As a result of Jesus’s horrible death, we are strengthened knowing that He has risen from the dead. We then look forward to our own resurrection because now we have become redeemed and no longer fear death because of His victory He won on the Cross for us.

Second Mystery – The Accension of Our Lord

(St. Mark 16: 19-20; St. Luke 24: 50-53; Acts 1: 1-14)

The fruit of this mystery is hope. Jesus now returns to His Father’s house in heaven and prepares us to receive the Holy Spirit to guide us through our life’s journey until we meet Him in heaven.

Third Mystery – The Descent of the Holy Spirit

(Acts 2: 1-41)

The fruit of this mystery is love of God. Mary and the Apostles were the first to receive this gift of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit dwells in our hearts too. This enables us to lead people into the truth of Jesus’ teachings using our gifts that the Holy Spirit has given each one of us.

Fourth Mystery – The Assumption of Mary into Heaven

(Ephesians 1: 6-7; I Peter 3:19; St. John 8: 56; I Corinthians 10: 4; St. Luke 1: 35)

The fruit of this mystery strengthens us in faith for the grace of a happy death. Mary is the model of holiness for us. She is the greatest Saint in Heaven and is placed above all the Angels and Saints as their Queen and Mother of God.

Fifth Mystery – The Crowning of Mary as Queen of Heaven and Earth

(1 King 2:19)

The fruit of this mystery is trusting in the intercession of Mary. She is the mediatrix of all graces given to us. She will always intercede for us, and our prayers will be answered in accordance with God’s will.
