The Fruits of The Luminous Mysteries of the Rosary

In my YouTube video I will be praying the Rosary and Nine Day Novena to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel (Day 7). Each mystery will define the fruit of that mystery with a brief description helping us to grow in holiness and virtue.

Day 7The Luminous Mysteries

First Mystery – The Baptism of Our Lord in the River Jordan

(St. Matthew 3: 13-17; St. Mark 1: 9-11; St. Luke 3: 21-22)

The fruit of this mystery is to be open to the Holy Spirit by letting God lead us in everything we do. Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist (not that He needed purification) but signifies the act of redemption for us. Through our Baptism we receive the virtues of faith, hope and love.

Second Mystery – The Wedding at Cana

(St. John 2: 1-12)

The fruit of this mystery teaches us the role that Mary played in Jesus’ life as the greatest intercessor for us. “Do whatever He tells you” (Jn 2:5) were the words that Mary spoke at the wedding giving us an example of complete trust in Jesus and words to live by.

Third Mystery – The Proclamation of the Kingdom of God

(I Peter 3: 15)

The fruit of this mystery teaches us conversion and repentance. Our God of Mercy is always ready to forgive our sins if we truly are sorry for them. If we frequent the sacrament of confession, our merciful God will give us the grace to free us from our sinful ways.

Fourth Mystery – The Transfiguration of Our Lord

(St. Matthew 17: 1-8; St. Mark 9: 1-7; St. Luke 9: 28-36)

The fruit of this mystery teaches us the desire to become holy like Jesus and Mary. “Be Holy as your Heavenly Father is Holy.” (1 Peter 1:15-16). When we practice the virtues of patience, gentleness, kindness, etc. we are being strengthened in holiness.

Fifth Mystery – The Institution of the Eucharist

(St. Matthew 26: 26-29; St. Mark 14: 22-25; St. Luke 22: 14-20, 24: 13-35; St. John 6: 1-72; I Corinthians 11: 23-34)

The fruit of this mystery teaches us to adore Jesus in the most Blessed Sacrament. Jesus gave the Eucharist as a gift to us so we may freely receive His Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity when we go to Holy Mass. Frequent Adoration and receiving Him daily (or as much as possible) will bring us many graces and closer to Jesus.
